Engine room by de Neuville

The Engine Room

he engine room is the largest on the Nautilus, described by Aronnax as at least twenty meters long.  Its position at the end of the boat restricts the floor area and volume available because of the taper of the hull. The room will have two sections, as Aronnax describes, a power generation area forward and propulsion machinery aft.

The shell of the engine room is formed by the inner hull.  Presently there is only a temporary stairway from the lower deck to the upper. It is our tour route as we reverse direction and proceed forward.

More to come...
